In short

Hosting keeps your site online; maintenance keeps it healthy. Splitting them across two vendors is where problems slip through. We manage both: we get you onto the right host (yours, optimized, or a better one we migrate you to free), tune it at the server level, monitor it around the clock, and handle all your updates, security and backups. You keep your own hosting account, we manage it. Compare plans or see the cost guide.

What is website hosting and maintenance?

These are two separate jobs that your website needs at the same time, and most owners end up managing them across two different companies without realising how much that split costs them.

Hosting is the server your website lives on, the computer that stores your files and serves your pages to visitors. It determines how fast your site loads, how much traffic it can handle, and whether it stays online. Maintenance is the ongoing care that keeps the site itself healthy once it is live: software updates, security, backups, speed work and fixes. Hosting is the foundation; maintenance is the upkeep of what sits on it.

The problem is that they are usually bought separately. You rent hosting from one company and either do maintenance yourself or hire someone else for it. So when your site is slow or down, you are stuck diagnosing whether it is a hosting problem or a site problem, and the two vendors tend to point at each other. Website hosting and maintenance as a combined service fixes that: one team takes responsibility for both the server and the site, so the whole thing is somebody\u2019s job, not split down a seam where problems hide.

No games, no reselling

How our hosting model works (and why it's more honest)

Here is the part most providers are vague about, so we will be direct. We are a maintenance and hosting-management company, not a hosting reseller. We do not run our own data centre and we do not mark up server space to sell you "our hosting." Instead, we get you onto the best host for your site and manage it fully on your behalf.

In practice that means your hosting account is in your name, with a top-tier provider, and we manage it for you. You always own your infrastructure, you can always see exactly what the server costs, and you are never locked to us because we happen to control your hosting. Our plans cover the management and maintenance; the host bills you directly for the server itself.

Why this is better for you

Reseller hosting hides the real cost and traps you: the hosting is in the provider\u2019s account, so leaving means a painful migration and losing your setup. Our way, the account is yours. If you ever want to leave, you keep your hosting and your site, no hostage situation.

It also means our host recommendation is honest. We take no commission tying us to any provider, so we recommend what actually fits your site, not what pays us the most.

The hosting side

What we manage on the hosting side

Everything to do with the server and the infrastructure around it, so you never have to understand or touch it yourself.

Host selection

We assess your needs and recommend the right host and plan, or confirm your current one is fine.

Free migration

If a move makes sense, we handle the whole migration with no downtime, at no extra cost.

Server-level tuning

Caching, LiteSpeed where available, PHP settings and CDN setup for fast delivery.

Uptime monitoring

24/7 monitoring from multiple locations, with alerts the moment the server stops responding.

SSL & DNS management

Certificates kept valid and renewing, DNS records managed, silent infrastructure failures caught early.

Host liaison

When something is genuinely server-side, we deal with the host so you do not have to sit in a support queue.

We work with all the major hosts, Kinsta, WP Engine, Cloudways, SiteGround, Rocket.net, Hostinger and others, and pair them with Cloudflare for CDN and security where it helps. The goal is simple: the right server, correctly configured, watched around the clock.

The maintenance side

What we handle on the maintenance side

On top of the hosting management, you get our full maintenance service, the six jobs every WordPress site needs, handled on schedule.

Updates

Core, theme and plugin updates, backed up first and tested after.

Security

Firewall, monitoring, malware scanning and same-day cleanup.

Backups

Daily off-site backups, restorable in one click.

Speed

Site-level caching, image and database optimization.

Monitoring

Uptime checks and health reporting.

Support

A real developer for fixes and edits.

The whole point

Why hosting and maintenance belong together

The single biggest reason to combine them is accountability. When your hosting and your maintenance are handled by different companies, every problem that touches both becomes a blame game. Your site is slow: the host says your site is bloated, your developer says the server is underpowered, and you are refereeing a fight between two vendors while your site keeps underperforming. Your site goes down at the worst possible moment and you burn an hour just working out who to call.

When one team owns both, that gap disappears. We can see whether a slowdown is the server or the site because we manage both, so we fix the actual cause instead of arguing about it. A migration, a caching change and a plugin cleanup can happen as one coordinated piece of work rather than three separate tickets across two companies. And when the site is down, there is exactly one number to call, and the people on the other end already have the full picture.

There is a performance benefit too. Hosting and maintenance affect the same outcomes, speed, uptime, security, from different angles. Tuning them together, caching configured to match the host, updates tested against the server environment, security layered at both levels, produces a faster, more stable site than optimizing either one in isolation. Handled separately, they work around each other. Handled together, they work with each other.

Host or site?

Is your hosting actually the problem?

Owners often blame the host when a site is slow or flaky, and sometimes they are right, but often they are not. Knowing the difference saves you from paying for a migration you did not need, or from staying on a host that genuinely cannot cope. Here is how we tell them apart, and how you can spot the signs yourself.

A lot of "bad hosting" is really an unoptimized site: no caching, oversized images, a bloated database, or a pile of heavy plugins. Move that site to a faster host and it is still slow, because the problem moved with it. That is why our first step is always a diagnosis, not a sales pitch to migrate. We check whether the slowdown lives in the site or the server, and frequently we can make a "slow" site fast on its existing host just by fixing the maintenance-level issues.

Genuine hosting problems do exist, though, and these are the signals: your site slows to a crawl whenever traffic rises even modestly, you hit resource limits or get throttled on a shared plan, support is slow or unhelpful when something breaks, the server has visible downtime in your monitoring, or you are on cheap shared hosting while running a store or a busy business site. When those are the real cause, no amount of site optimization fixes it, and a move to the right host is the honest answer. Because we manage both layers, you get a straight diagnosis either way, rather than a host blaming your site or a developer blaming your host.

Know your options

Hosting types explained

Part of managing your hosting is putting you on the right kind in the first place. Here is the honest version of the main options, without the jargon, so you understand what we would recommend and why.

Hosting typeBest forTrade-off
Shared hostingVery small or new sites on a tight budgetCheap but crowded; performance and security are on you
Managed WordPress hostingMost business sitesCosts more, but tuned, secured and supported for WordPress
Cloud hostingGrowing sites & stores needing to scaleFlexible and fast; needs someone to configure it well
VPSSites wanting dedicated resources at lower cost than a serverMore control, more responsibility unless managed
Dedicated serverLarge, high-traffic or special-requirement sitesPowerful and pricey; usually overkill for most businesses

The other distinction that matters is managed vs unmanaged. Unmanaged hosting rents you the server and leaves everything else to you, updates, security, performance, problems. Managed hosting includes a layer of care from the host. With us in the picture, even a mid-tier host effectively becomes fully managed, because we handle the tuning, monitoring and maintenance regardless of what the host does or does not include. For most businesses, an optimized managed host with us managing it is the sweet spot between cost and peace of mind.

Moving is easy

Free website migration, zero downtime

If your current host is holding your site back, moving is far less scary than most owners fear, and we handle all of it. Migration is included free when you start a plan, and your site stays live the entire time.

The process is straightforward: we take a complete backup of your site, set it up on the new host, test it thoroughly on a temporary address to confirm everything works, and only then switch the DNS so visitors flow to the new server. Because the old site keeps running until the new one is confirmed good, there is no window where your site is offline. Most visitors never know it happened; they just get a faster site afterward. If you are mid-contract with your current host, we will tell you honestly whether it is worth leaving early or waiting out the term, no pressure to move for the sake of it.

Speed at both levels

Performance and Core Web Vitals

Speed is where combined hosting and maintenance really pays off, because a fast site depends on both the server and the site being right, and we control both. A great host with a poorly optimized site is still slow, and a well-built site on a weak server is still slow. Tuning them together is how you actually get fast.

On the server side we configure caching correctly (including server-level caching like LiteSpeed where the host supports it), set up a CDN and Cloudflare to serve assets closer to visitors, and make sure PHP and server settings are current and sensible. On the site side we compress images, keep the database lean, and remove the bloat that accumulates over time. All of it is measured against Google\u2019s Core Web Vitals, the real-world speed metrics Google uses as a ranking signal, so the improvements are visible in both your load times and your search performance. A faster site ranks better and converts more, which makes this the part of the service that actively earns rather than just protects.

Room to grow

Hosting for growth and high-traffic sites

The right hosting setup is not just about today\u2019s traffic, it is about what happens when a campaign lands, a post goes viral, or your business simply grows. A setup that is comfortable at a few thousand visits a month can fall over at fifty thousand, and the failure always seems to arrive at the moment you most want the traffic, launch day, a press hit, a big sale.

Managing hosting means planning for that headroom rather than discovering the ceiling the hard way. For growing sites we lean toward cloud or managed hosting that can scale resources up when demand spikes, pair it with a CDN and Cloudflare so static assets are served from the edge instead of hammering your origin server, and keep caching aggressive enough that most visitors never touch the database at all. Before any expected surge, we review whether the current plan has the headroom and adjust ahead of time. The result is a site that stays fast as it grows, and stays standing on the days that matter most, instead of one you are frantically upgrading while it is already struggling.

Protected end to end

Security, backups and disaster recovery

Security is strongest when it is layered at both the infrastructure and the site level, which is exactly what managing both lets us do. At the edge, a firewall and Cloudflare filter malicious traffic before it reaches your server. At the site, we harden WordPress, monitor for malware and file changes, and keep everything patched, since outdated plugins are how most sites get breached. If something ever gets through, we clean it, restore from a clean backup if needed, and close the hole.

Backups are the safety net under all of it. We take daily off-site backups, stored away from your host so they survive even a total server failure, and keep a rolling archive you can restore from in minutes. That is also what makes safe updates possible: every change is reversible because a clean copy always exists from moments before. Disaster recovery is not a document we hand you, it is a tested ability to get your site back, fast, whatever went wrong, whether that is a bad update, a hack, or the server itself failing.

Unmanaged hosting is cheaper on paper and fine if you have the time and technical skill to run it well and actually keep it up. For everyone else, managed care costs a modest monthly fee and removes the entire category of "is it the host or the site?" problems, plus the hours you would spend on server admin that is not your job.

Answers

Hosting and maintenance FAQ

What is website hosting and maintenance?

Website hosting is the server your site lives on; website maintenance is the ongoing care that keeps the site secure, updated and fast. They are two different jobs that most owners juggle across two vendors. We combine them: we manage your hosting (choosing or optimizing it, migrating you, tuning it at the server level, monitoring it) and handle full maintenance, so one team owns both layers and nothing falls between them.

Do you provide or sell hosting?

We manage hosting rather than resell it, and we are upfront about that. You keep your own hosting account in your name (or we set one up for you with a top-tier host), which means you always own your infrastructure and are never locked to us. Our plans cover the management and maintenance; you pay the host directly for the server itself. This is more transparent than bundled reseller hosting, where you never see what you are actually paying for.

Why should hosting and maintenance be handled together?

Because when they are split across two vendors, problems fall into the gap between them. Your site goes down, the host says it is your site, your developer says it is the host, and you are stuck in the middle losing time and money. When one team manages both, there is no finger-pointing: we see the whole picture, diagnose fast, and fix it, whether the cause is the server or the site.

Which hosting companies do you work with?

We work with all the major managed and cloud hosts, including Kinsta, WP Engine, Cloudways, SiteGround, Rocket.net and Hostinger, among others. We are not tied to any of them, so our recommendation is based on what actually fits your site and budget, not on a commission. If your current host is good, we optimize it; if it is holding you back, we migrate you somewhere better.

Do you migrate my website for free?

Yes. If moving hosts is the right call, we handle the full migration at no extra cost as part of onboarding: a complete backup, the move to the new host, testing, and the DNS cutover, all with no downtime. Your site stays live throughout and visitors never notice the switch.

What does managed hosting actually include with you?

On the hosting side: choosing or reviewing your host, migration, server-level performance tuning (caching, LiteSpeed where available, CDN and Cloudflare setup), DNS and SSL management, uptime monitoring, and acting as your point of contact with the host when something server-side needs escalating. On the maintenance side: updates, security, daily backups, speed work and support. One plan covers both.

Is managed hosting better than shared hosting?

For a business site, usually yes. Cheap shared hosting is unmanaged: you are responsible for performance, security and fixing problems yourself. Managed hosting (or an optimized host with us managing it) means the server is tuned, monitored and looked after. You are paying for someone to own the outcome rather than just rent you space and leave you to it.

Do I still pay a separate hosting bill?

Yes, and we prefer it that way for transparency. You pay your host directly for the server (often $20 to $100+ per month depending on the site), and you pay us for management and maintenance starting at $59/mo. You always see exactly what each part costs, and because the hosting account is yours, you are never trapped.

Can you fix my slow or unreliable hosting?

Often yes, without even moving you. A lot of "slow hosting" is actually a misconfigured site or missing caching, which we fix at the maintenance level. Where the host itself is genuinely the bottleneck, we tell you honestly and migrate you to something that fits. Either way, you get a straight diagnosis rather than an upsell.

Do you manage DNS, SSL and domains?

Yes. We manage DNS records, keep SSL certificates valid and renewing (a lapsed certificate can take a site offline or scare away visitors), and help with domain settings. These small infrastructure details fail silently and are a common cause of sudden outages, so we monitor them as part of the service.

What happens if my server goes down at 2am?

Our monitoring alerts us to downtime around the clock, so we usually know before you do. If it is a server issue, we escalate it with the host immediately and stay on it until it is resolved; if it is a site issue, we fix it directly. Higher plans include priority and same-day response for exactly these situations.

Do I need a contract?

No. Every plan is month to month with no lock-in, and because your hosting account stays in your name, leaving is always your choice, not a hostage situation. We keep clients by managing their site well, not by controlling their infrastructure.

How do I get started?

Send us your website URL for a free audit. We review your current hosting and site health, tell you honestly whether your host is fine or holding you back, recommend a plan, and if a migration makes sense we handle it free. We take over within 24 hours with no downtime.
