Hosting and maintenance FAQ
What is website hosting and maintenance?
Website hosting is the server your site lives on; website maintenance is the ongoing care that keeps the site secure, updated and fast. They are two different jobs that most owners juggle across two vendors. We combine them: we manage your hosting (choosing or optimizing it, migrating you, tuning it at the server level, monitoring it) and handle full maintenance, so one team owns both layers and nothing falls between them.
Do you provide or sell hosting?
We manage hosting rather than resell it, and we are upfront about that. You keep your own hosting account in your name (or we set one up for you with a top-tier host), which means you always own your infrastructure and are never locked to us. Our plans cover the management and maintenance; you pay the host directly for the server itself. This is more transparent than bundled reseller hosting, where you never see what you are actually paying for.
Why should hosting and maintenance be handled together?
Because when they are split across two vendors, problems fall into the gap between them. Your site goes down, the host says it is your site, your developer says it is the host, and you are stuck in the middle losing time and money. When one team manages both, there is no finger-pointing: we see the whole picture, diagnose fast, and fix it, whether the cause is the server or the site.
Which hosting companies do you work with?
We work with all the major managed and cloud hosts, including Kinsta, WP Engine, Cloudways, SiteGround, Rocket.net and Hostinger, among others. We are not tied to any of them, so our recommendation is based on what actually fits your site and budget, not on a commission. If your current host is good, we optimize it; if it is holding you back, we migrate you somewhere better.
Do you migrate my website for free?
Yes. If moving hosts is the right call, we handle the full migration at no extra cost as part of onboarding: a complete backup, the move to the new host, testing, and the DNS cutover, all with no downtime. Your site stays live throughout and visitors never notice the switch.
What does managed hosting actually include with you?
On the hosting side: choosing or reviewing your host, migration, server-level performance tuning (caching, LiteSpeed where available, CDN and Cloudflare setup), DNS and SSL management, uptime monitoring, and acting as your point of contact with the host when something server-side needs escalating. On the maintenance side: updates, security, daily backups, speed work and support. One plan covers both.
Is managed hosting better than shared hosting?
For a business site, usually yes. Cheap shared hosting is unmanaged: you are responsible for performance, security and fixing problems yourself. Managed hosting (or an optimized host with us managing it) means the server is tuned, monitored and looked after. You are paying for someone to own the outcome rather than just rent you space and leave you to it.
Do I still pay a separate hosting bill?
Yes, and we prefer it that way for transparency. You pay your host directly for the server (often $20 to $100+ per month depending on the site), and you pay us for management and maintenance starting at $59/mo. You always see exactly what each part costs, and because the hosting account is yours, you are never trapped.
Can you fix my slow or unreliable hosting?
Often yes, without even moving you. A lot of "slow hosting" is actually a misconfigured site or missing caching, which we fix at the maintenance level. Where the host itself is genuinely the bottleneck, we tell you honestly and migrate you to something that fits. Either way, you get a straight diagnosis rather than an upsell.
Do you manage DNS, SSL and domains?
Yes. We manage DNS records, keep SSL certificates valid and renewing (a lapsed certificate can take a site offline or scare away visitors), and help with domain settings. These small infrastructure details fail silently and are a common cause of sudden outages, so we monitor them as part of the service.
What happens if my server goes down at 2am?
Our monitoring alerts us to downtime around the clock, so we usually know before you do. If it is a server issue, we escalate it with the host immediately and stay on it until it is resolved; if it is a site issue, we fix it directly. Higher plans include priority and same-day response for exactly these situations.
Do I need a contract?
No. Every plan is month to month with no lock-in, and because your hosting account stays in your name, leaving is always your choice, not a hostage situation. We keep clients by managing their site well, not by controlling their infrastructure.
How do I get started?
Send us your website URL for a free audit. We review your current hosting and site health, tell you honestly whether your host is fine or holding you back, recommend a plan, and if a migration makes sense we handle it free. We take over within 24 hours with no downtime.
